Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data Roulettly processes and how. Our principle: collect as little as possible.
1. What we never do
We do not record your conversations. Video conversations pass through an encrypted relay on our own server: the stream, encrypted end to end, is forwarded without the relay being able to read or store it, and the other participant never receives your IP address, only the relay's. The conversation itself, picture and sound alike, is neither recorded nor kept.
Moderation is the exception, and it only ever covers your own camera, never the person you are talking to. Section 3 sets out what it may examine, why, and how long it is kept.
2. Data processed
- Technical identifier and nickname: to link you to a session and, if you choose, to a profile (avatar, interests).
- Preferences: language, settings, credits.
- Technical data: device type and connection logs, for security and proper operation.
3. Moderation and reports
To enforce the rules of Roulettly, images from your own camera may be analysed automatically and examined by our moderation team. An automatic analysis can suspend an account straight away; a moderator then reviews the case, upholds or lifts the suspension, and can ban the account.
When you report someone, or when someone reports you, images of the conversation at that moment are attached to the report, so that moderation can judge on the evidence rather than on a single sentence.
For an account that has already been reported and is awaiting a decision, a video recording of its own camera, with sound, may also be made during its conversations, so that the decision rests on more than a single image: to confirm abuse, or to lift an unjustified suspension. Roulettly receives no recording of an account that has not been reported.
Because the gender filters are paid, the gender you declare may be checked by moderation on images from your own camera. A gender corrected by moderation can no longer be changed from the account.
To prevent fraud, Roulettly also keeps technical information about the camera in use and the type of device, linked to your account and deleted with it.
Everything moderation examines is shown to moderation only, never to another user. Images and recordings are deleted as soon as a decision is made, and after 14 days at the latest; images used to check the declared gender are deleted after 30 days at the latest.
Any clearly illegal behaviour observed on Roulettly is reported to the competent authorities of the country concerned. The elements needed for the report (account identifier, date and time, images kept for moderation, then held for 90 days) may then be passed to them.
4. Advertising
The app may display ads (Google AdMob) that let you earn credits. The ad provider may use identifiers for measurement. You can limit ad tracking in your device settings.
5. Analytics
We use privacy-friendly analytics (Umami), without individual profiling. It sets a single technical cookie that keeps bots out: it holds no identifier and has the same value for every browser of the same version.
6. Subscription payments
If you subscribe on the website, payment is processed by Stripe, a payment provider. Your card details and the email address entered on the payment page go to Stripe; Roulettly never sees or stores your card numbers. We only keep the Stripe customer and subscription identifiers linked to your account, and the end date of the paid period, to turn the filter on.
7. Retention
Profile data is kept while you use the service. Images and recordings examined by moderation are deleted as soon as a decision is made, and after 14 days at the latest (30 days for the gender check, 90 days for the elements passed to the authorities). You can request deletion of your data at any time.
8. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete and object to the processing of your data. To exercise it, email contact@roulettly.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL, www.cnil.fr).
9. Age
The service is reserved for people aged 18 and over.
