You are
I want to talk to
Never widen the search. Leave Roulettly in the background, we notify you as soon as someone matches.
Optional: they help put you in front of someone who shares your tastes.

From the search bar to a conversation
Someone who types "sites like Joingy" usually knows what they want: talk to a stranger on camera, now, without going through a form first. Every extra screen between that wish and a real conversation is a screen too many.
Roulettly keeps that distance as short as it can. The only permission the page needs is your camera, and it is your browser that asks for it, not us. There is no username to reserve, no password to invent and no confirmation email to click before you can talk.
Below, you will only read about Roulettly: the name you searched for is the only mention of any other service.
What stands between you and the first call
Everything is on the first screen, and two of these fields are optional.
The camera
Your browser asks for access. You allow it and see your own preview first, before anyone else sees you.
Two choices
"You are": Woman or Man. "I want to talk to": Everyone, the free setting. A nickname and interests are optional, so you can skip both.
The 18+ box, then Start
Tick "I'm 18 or older and I accept" and press Start. The search begins at once, and you are connected to the next available person.
Twenty languages, one matching
The interface is available in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, Turkish, Arabic, Persian, Hindi, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai, Japanese, Korean and Chinese.
Matching gives priority to someone who speaks the same language as you, without turning that into a wall: if nobody is available in your language, you are still connected to someone else. Some people use exactly that to practise a language with strangers.
What no sign-up means in practice
No account means there is nothing for anyone to look up. The person opposite sees your video, hears your sound, and sees your nickname if you typed one, the gender you indicated and the flag of your country. Not your email, and not a profile page.
The only part of Roulettly that asks for an e-mail account is Premium, an optional extra for choosing to talk only to women or only to men. The basic chat never asks for one.
Moderation
Reporting and blocking are on every match. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team. It is a random video chat reserved for adults aged 18 and over.
More on how Roulettly works.
Every call goes through an encrypted relay
A signalling server introduces two strangers. After that, video and audio go from your device to our relay, then to the other person's device, for every match.
The stream stays end-to-end encrypted by WebRTC: the relay only forwards encrypted packets, and can neither read nor store them. The other person never receives your IP address, only the relay's. The conversation itself is not recorded.
On a phone as well
Roulettly runs in the browser of a phone just as it does on a computer, with nothing to install. If you would rather have an icon on your home screen, the Android app is published on Google Play: see random video chat on Android, or on iPhone, where it works in Safari.
