Why the age line matters here
Random video chat and a young audience are a bad mix, and every service in this category has learned it the hard way. A signalling server introduces two strangers. After that, video and audio travel straight from one device to the other, which is the default for every match.
One exception, stated rather than hidden: some networks make a direct connection impossible, a company firewall, a campus filter, a router doing symmetric NAT. The encrypted stream then passes through a relay that forwards it without being able to read it. Nothing is recorded in either case.
