Looking for a site like the Monkey app?
Looking for a site like the Monkey app, as an adult? Roulettly is random video chat for people aged 18 and over, and it says so before you start: the first thing standing between you and the camera is a box reading "I'm 18 or older and I accept". Adults 18+ only, with no exception and no workaround.
The rhythm is quick. You press Start, a stranger appears, and you decide in a few seconds whether to talk or to press next. There is no account to create first, no email and no phone number. Roulettly asks for one permission only, the one for your camera.
How it starts
Three steps, no sign-up.
Allow the camera
Press "Turn on my camera" and you see yourself first, before anyone sees you.
Choose how you appear
Pick Woman or Man under "You are", leave "I want to talk to" on Everyone, and add interests under "What you are into" if you like. All of it is quick, and the interests are optional.
Tick 18+ and press Start
Confirm "I'm 18 or older and I accept" and you are matched. Press next whenever you want someone else.
Why the age line matters here
Random video chat and a young audience are a bad mix. Roulettly's answer is to be an adult space from the start. The age statement sits on the start button itself, not in a settings page, and the service is open to adults aged 18 and over only. Nothing on Roulettly is designed for, or aimed at, anyone younger.
Moderation is part of that. Report and block buttons are on every match, and reports are reviewed by our moderation team. Roulettly is a random video chat reserved for adults aged 18 and over, with Report and Block on every match. More on how Roulettly works.
What the other person sees
A short list: your video, your sound, your nickname if you typed one (the "Your nickname" field is optional), the gender you indicated and the flag of your country. They do not see an email address, since none exists, and there is no profile for them to browse.
That is also why a conversation feels light. The conversation is not recorded, nothing is saved to a history, and when you press next, it is over.
20 languages, and interests if you want them
The interface comes in 20 languages: English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, Turkish, Arabic, Persian, Hindi, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. Matching gives priority to someone who speaks your language, without making it a wall.
Interests are optional. They help place you in front of someone who shares your tastes, and you can leave them empty.
Premium and Strict mode, if you want more control
Everyone is the free choice for who you talk to. Premium, optional and tied to an email account, lets you talk only to women or only to men, in 1, 6 or 12 months and with no commitment. Strict mode, part of Premium, never widens the search: leave Roulettly in the background and you are notified as soon as someone matches.
Every call goes through an encrypted relay
A signalling server introduces two strangers. After that, video and audio go from your device to our relay, then to the other person's device, for every match.
The stream stays end-to-end encrypted by WebRTC: the relay only forwards encrypted packets, and can neither read nor store them. The other person never receives your IP address, only the relay's. The conversation itself is not recorded.
